JDM Option International: Volume 26
JDM Option is the coolest drifting and motorsport DVD series from Japan with high quality drifting video and excellent subtitles. JDM Option International: Volume 26 has three main features:
- Jidousha (car) Soccer World Cup
- 2006 Tsukuba Superlap Time Attack
- Video coverage of 2006 D1 Grand Prix Malaysia Series
The car soccer segment is the most entertaining part of this JDM Option DVD and there is not much drifting, but the Tsukuba Superlap time attack was cool.
Jidousha Soccer World Cup is simply insane. What else would you expect when you combine demolition derby, soccer, and a 50 pound soccer ball?
Two teams, Akutoku Tuners vs. Boso Drifters face off in a dangerous game of car soccer. Daijiro Inada acts as referee but really Inada spends most of the match running for his life from these drifters since he has the smallest car!
Akutoku Tuners: Susumu Koyama, Kazuyoshi Okamura, Kazuhiko “Smokey” Nagata, Naruhito Abe, and Shunji Kazama.
Boso Drifters: Ken Nomura, Yasuyuki Kazama, Drift Samurai, Takahiro Ueno, and Nobushige Kumakubo.
The car soccer match is extremely entertaining with crashes, in-car camera shots, and hilarious commentary. Akutoku Tuners’ Kazuyoshi Okamura has an unfair advantage driving the Estima minivan since it is the largest car on the field but the Boso Drifters won’t lose without a fight!
The drivers: Keiichi Tsuchiya, Akira Iida, Mitsuhiro Kinoshita, and Shinichi Yamaji.
Drift King Keiichi Tsuchiya is driving the 600 horsepower Screen built Nissan S15 Silvia, Mitsuhiro Kinoshita drives the Autech Nissan Z33 and the Bodywork EP82, Akira Iida is driver of the 560 horsepower Esprit Honda NSX and 470 horsepower Pan Speed Mazda RX-7 FD3S, and Shinichi Yamaji tests the 668 horsepower Pentroof Nissan Z32.

Coverage of the inaugural 2006 D1 Grand Prix Malaysia Series begins with a drifting demonstration for the Malaysian crowd featuring Keiichi Tsuchiya and Yasuyuki Kazama. Kazama ends the drifting demo with his signature rodeo drift, thoroughly entertaining the crowd.
Next, there is a preseason drifting competition where Malaysian local drifter Tengku Djan takes first place driving a Toyota AE86. After his win, Tengku Djan invites JDM Option into his home. As you look around Djan’s beautiful home you learn his father is former CEO of vehicle manufacturer Proton and that Djan has a rally background taking 2nd at MRC in 2002, and get a look at his car collection that includes a Nissan Skyline and Porsche 911.
Finally, the Malaysian D1 Grand Prix coverage ends with Zero Lim Kim Ling winning the first ever D1 Grand Prix Malaysia drift event. 2nd place went to Zee in the Nissan 180SX and then pre-season winner Tengku Djan took 3rd.
